Yellow Cabs

From what was initially an improvised scouting of Lower Manhattan, a Nikon F3 loaded with a roll of Kodak Ektachrome, and a very talented retoucher, turned out to become a project with it’s very own narrative. Shot in the mid ‘90s but post-produced after 9/11, the heavy “film noir” look makes each image stand out like screen shots from a dystopian movie. The main characters are the omnipresent Yellow Cabs moving around the City, with the inhabitants being staged only as extras, playing the parts of anonymous bystanders.
